Would:

1. unlikely situations สถานการณ์ที่ไม่น่าเป็นไปได้

e.g. If I were you, I would study English instead of French.

-ถ้าผมเป็นคุณ ผมจะเรียนภาษาอังกฤษแทนที่จะเรียนภาษาฝรั่งเศษ.

Note: ถ้าสถานะการณ์ที่ไม่น่าเป็นไปได้ ต้องใช้ 'were' ไม่ใช่ 'was' แต่ถ้าเป็นในรูปอดีตปกติ ใช้ กริยาช่อง2 'I was.........'

2. Polite questions คำถามที่สุภาพ.

e.g. Would you like some water?

-คุณต้องการรับน้ำไหมครับ?

Do you want some water?

-เอาน้ำไหม?

Should:

1. Advice คำแนะนำ

e.g. You should study hard at school to get a good job in the future.

-คุณควรจะเรียนอย่างหนักที่โรงเรียนเพื่อให้ได้งานที่ดีในอนาคต

Could:

1. Ability in the past ความสามารถในอดีตที่ผ่านมา

e.g. 5 years ago, I could speak Chinese but now I can't.

-เมื่อ 5 ปีที่แล้ว ผมพูดภาษาจีนได้แต่ตอนนี้พูดไม่ได้แล้ว.

2. Possibilities in the future. ความเป็นไปได้ในอนาคต

e.g. I could come to help you tomorrow if I am not too busy.

-ผมจะมาช่วยคุณในวันพรุ่งนี้ถ้าผมไม่ยุ่งเกินไป.

Note: Too busy (บิซ'ซี) = ยุ่งเกินไป ไม่ใช่ยุ่งมาก

ถ้าอยากจะพูดว่า 'ยุ่งมาก' ต้องพูดว่า 'very busy', 'so busy' or 'really busy'.

3. Make polite requests คำขอที่สุภาพ

e.g. Could you please ask your boss to call me when he is available?

- รบกวนช่วยแจ้งเจ้านายของคุณให้โทรหาผม เมื่อเขาว่างด้วยนะครับ?

REMEMBER: Don't use 'to' after 'would', 'could' or 'should.

e.g. You should help him = CORRECT

You should to help him = INCORRECT
